At PSFC, we’ve created a program that combines infant and toddler learning and care in a nurturing, loving environment. One where each child gets individual attention. And where every parent gets detailed reports of their child’s progress.

Using colorful toys and age-appropriate activities that relate to the milestones each child is experiencing — from infancy to 3-years-old — we not only help stimulate their developing brains but help them start a love of learning to last a lifetime.

With Pre-K classes available for 3 to 5-year-olds in the East Stroudsburg and Pocono Mountain School Districts, your child’s curiosity will be matched by our staff’s passion for teaching children. With the understanding that preschool is more important than ever, our teachers concentrate on skills that children will use in kindergarten. Reading, writing, and math-readiness are explored, along with building confidence and fostering independence. Our classrooms are brimming with hands-on activity to stimulate discovery.

It’s a great start to the school day. And a great way to spend time after school.

With hours before and after school, children of working parents can get a good start to their day, receive help with their homework, and more.

This Pennsylvania STAR4 school-age program provides kids from kindergarten through sixth grade a fun, safe place to make new friends, learn new things and enrich their performance at school.

Parents can rest assured that each child’s needs will be addressed in a learning environment that promotes positive social and academic behavior. Our program strives to build a better connection to school, family and the community.

As part of the PFSC belief in providing resources that help families reach their goals, our school-age program helps children achieve even more from their school day, while under expert instruction and safe care.

We promote collaboration between the business community and educational institutions to foster productive citizenship, lifelong employ-ability skills and economic development for youth in the region.

We provide leadership, career exploration, and employability, and entrepreneurial training. Our program encourages youth ages 12-24 to take an active role in their future career.

Children are the heart of the family. Children are the future of a community. Nurturing children to become happy, involved adults start with the interaction between their families and the Head Start staff in this worthwhile and rewarding program.

Beginning with educating families about child-rearing and encouraging participation in their children’s education, there is mutual respect regarding culture and language between staff and parents. Two-way communication also plays a major role as parents and families are assisted in their own education, training, career and life goals.

By utilizing available resources and receiving positive reinforcement, strong family engagement results in strong results. For children, their families and their communities.

Parents learn how to best nurture their child’s health, development, and learning; and ultimately succeed at the hardest and most rewarding job in the world.

Parenting would be a lot easier if children were born with instruction manuals. All the answers would be at your fingertips, so you’d feel more relaxed and confident.

With this class, qualified and experienced PSFC staff dedicate themselves to making you feel more confident about your parenting abilities. Support, guidance, and encouragement combined with fostering close parent-child interaction and child development all play their part as parents learn how to master the most worthwhile job in the world.

This PSFC course consists of 10 weekly two-hour sessions; each filled with helpful instruction along with an appreciation of the beauty and wonder of being a parent.

The days of sitting on a rocking chair are long gone. Today’s grandparents are more involved in life than any generation before them.

Grandparents raising their grandchildren is now quite common. And whether they’re doing it alone or with other family members, support and guidance are key.

Finding their way through the maze of social services available to them can be confusing and frustrating. Seniors need to be guided on where to turn for basic needs, as well as for socialization and enjoying activities with others.

PFSC prides itself on finding the solutions to issues that face all generations. With that in mind, our cherished senior citizens are no exception to the rule.

Healthy and happy go hand-in-hand. And you want the two to go together as much as possible.

With these classes offered to PSFC, parents can learn about healthy family living that their children can grow up knowing. Information on everyday wellness, nutrition, and safety are discussed, along with special attention focused on what to do when your child gets sick.

Funded by the Blue Ribbon Foundation of Blue Cross of Northeastern PA and the United Way of Monroe County, this training is a must for receiving the most up-to-date and trusted information. Now, parents can be reassured of getting just that.

Keeping babies dry means keeping babies healthy. Along with food and clothing, diapers are an absolute necessity — but sadly, it’s one that many families are hard-pressed to afford.

This is not acceptable — but PFSC has the solution.

We stand behind the volunteers from our community who selflessly work to make sure that free diapers are always available to those who need it most. And we’re determined to help every family get this basic baby item by connecting them with a diaper bank they can rely on.

Wholesome and happy times for families not only strengthen their ties, but make for wonderful memories to look back on and treasure.

Balloons, Face-Painting, Music. They’re All The Things That Children Love, And Parents Enjoy Sharing With Them.

Family Fun Day takes place every October (so add Halloween pumpkins into the mix) which is PA Promise For Children month.

Yard sales, free storybooks and prizes round out a day that PFSC has made a tradition for the past few years; one that our families are sure to mark on their calendars.

Off the streets and on their game; here’s how to keep kids active and involved.

It’s a great way to unglue kids from their devices. And a fun way for kids to challenge themselves physically.

Meeting new friends and learning to improve their game in a safe, supervised environment is sure to put parents’ minds at ease — and keep kids busy and happy.

PFSC encourages kids to get moving as part of a healthier lifestyle. One that can benefit their growing bodies, as well as their growing minds.

The life you save may be someone you love.

CPR is a vital and easy-to-learn skill that can protect your family and members of your community. Even more, having the ability to properly perform CPR can be a valuable asset to add to your resume.

Our families can learn Hands Only CPR, become Hands Only CPR presenters, and earn full Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/ED certification from the American Red Cross at reduced cost.

Education For Parents Is Just As Important As It Is For Children.

At PFSC, we support those who want to work hard to afford themselves better opportunities.

To that end, we will happily connect any adult with the Head Start (or other resource) that can help them get a better command of the English language, complete their high school education, and become a United States citizen.

Classes are free and we can also help with transportation options—all part of our “cradle to adult” mission in helping people achieve their goals

PFSC strives to connect people living with substance abuse with NA meetings. There they will find understanding and empathy from those who have “been there,” and are now recovering and trying to help others.

Held in churches, schools, libraries, community centers, and other public places, members may share as much or as little as they want. Whatever they choose, they can all take heart by seeing that they are not alone and that living a clean life is possible.
